Silver Price Rallies to New 30-Year High
SILVER PRICE NEWS – The silver price rallied as much as $0.89 to $31.52 per ounce in early afternoon trading on Wednesday, its highest level since March 7, 1980.
After setting several new 30-year highs in late 2010, the silver price fell to as low as $26.82 on January 25, 2011, but has since rebounded substantially.
With today’s gain, the silver price turned higher year-to-date, by $0.57, or 1.9%. For the month of February, the price of silver is now up $3.56, or 12.7%.
Silver’s all-time record high of $50 per ounce came in 1980, as the Hunt Brothers tried to corner the market.
